C25K – Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of our couch to 5k challenge! We are on the home stretch and just about ready to run 5k!! The runs this week are all identical and longer.

Run Schedule

  • Day 1
    • 5 Min warm up
    • Jog for 25 min (or 2.5 miles)
    • Cool Down
  • Day 2
    • 5 Min warm up
      Jog for 25 min (or 2.5 miles)
      Cool Down
  • Day 3
    • 5 Min warm up
      Jog for 25 min (or 2.5 miles)
      Cool Down

Notes / Tips for new runners:

As you may recall from the first few weeks where the runs were identical, I recommend you try to mix them up a bit. You can do that by increasing the effort each day, or by changing where you run, perhaps doing one day on a flat course and one on a hilly one.

The time / distance increase this week is pretty nominal. If you did last week, you can do this week. Don’t let your mind play tricks on you.

Looking through the post on Facebook and tumblr, I don’t think anyone is 100% caught up and “on schedule” so I am going to use next week as another catch up week. We will move to our last week on Aug 2nd.

Week 6 Challenge

My challenge for you this week is to do at least one of these runs targeting distance, rather than time. So warm up and then run 2.5 miles.
